Annual Holiday Market is Dec. 8

Make plans to visit your favorite Seville Farm Market vendors -- and meet some new ones! -- at our annual Holiday Market on Dec. 8 at Seville United Methodist Church. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's a perfect opportunity to pick up some delicious treats and handmade gifts for the holiday season. Enjoy a cup of coffee, hear live music and relax as you browse. Seville United Methodist Church is located at 74 West Main Street, Seville, Ohio 44273. Hope to see you there!

Cooking demo this Saturday, Sept. 1

Bring your appetite to the Seville Farm Market this Saturday when Emily Lloyd will present a Pampered Chef cooking demonstration. Watch Emily prepare a tasty dish with ingredients from the market, then take home the recipe and some fresh produce to try it yourself. The Seville Farm Market is open 9 a.m. to noon each Saturday through Sept. 29. Hope to see you there!

Hello, zucchini fans!

The Seville Farm Market’s Fourth-Annual Zucchini Smackdown was the greatest ever. There were 16 delicious entries – making it tough work on our three dedicated judges. We’d like to thank Seville Councilwoman Leslie Miller, Seville chef Jim Morris, and Medina County Court of Common Pleas Judge James Kimbler for thoughtfully tasting each dish. The judges awarded points based on each entry’s appearance, taste, originality and “zucchininess” (that is, the best use of zucchini). Here's some exciting news about the Fourth-Annual Zucchini Smackdown cooking contest on Aug. 18. Market vendor Karen Lucas will be on Fox 8 News in the Morning around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, demonstrating a zucchini recipe and talking about the Seville Farm Market! In addition, radio reporter Vivian Goodman of WKSU-FM 89.7 will be visiting the Zucchini Smackdown to do a story for her weekly food program, Quick Bites. Be sure to tune in to watch Karen make a zucchini dish and talk about the Seville Farm Market Friday morning around 8:30 a.m.! We'll let you know when the WKSU piece will air. The Seville Farm Market Presents: The 2012 Zucchini Smackdown 10 a.m. Aug. 18 Test your creativity by making your best zucchini dish and bringing it to the Seville Farm Market! Contest Rules: 1.) Dish must be made from zucchini you grew or obtained from a local grower. 2.) Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Best Savory Dish, Best Sweet Dish and Largest Zucchini. 3.) Entrants must provide recipes for each dish, which will be posted at www.sevillefarmmarket.blogspot.com. 4.) All entries must be in place for judging by 10 a.m., Saturday, August 18. 5.) The Seville Farm Market is open for its fourth season on May 26. Come visit us in beautiful Maria Stanhope Park by the Gazebo from 9 a.m. to noon each Saturday through Sept. 29. (Market closed for the Seville Yard sale on June 16.) Fresh produce, handmade arts and crafts, breads and cookies, jams and jellies, dog treats and more. Call for vendors

Interested in becoming a vendor at the 2012 Seville Farm Market? You’re invited to an informational meeting 7 p.m. April 26 at Seville United Methodist Church, 74 W. Main St., Seville. There you’ll be able to pick up an application and vendor guidelines, as well as meet returning vendors who can answer your questions. The Seville Farm Market is a producer’s market, which means it’s open only to vendors who produce their own goods. No reselling is permitted. With its small-town atmosphere, convenient parking, and $25 fee for the entire 19-date season, the Seville Farm Market is one of the most vendor-friendly markets in the area. The informational meeting is a dessert potluck. If you wish, please bring your own table service and a dessert dish to share. Coffee and water provided. Annual Snowstorm Brainstorm Potluck Dinner

Hello, Seville Farm Market Vendors! We hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and that your new year is off to a good start. Just a reminder that our annual Snowstorm Brainstorm Potluck Dinner is coming up on Thursday, Jan. 12, at Seville United Methodist Church, 74 W. Main St., Seville. Dnner is at 6 p.m. Please bring a dish to share and your own table setting. Coffee, iced tea and water will be provided. The food is always delicious! Following dinner, we will begin to plan the 2012 season. Thank you for your hard work and creative talents that have made the Seville Farm Market a success.
